Let’s clear something up right now: money is not your enemy!!!
You might be thinking: DUH! Of course it isn’t. I’d love some more money!
But what you might not realize is that a lot of us have subconscious beliefs about money that actually hold us back from making more of it.
Yes — the way you THINK about money has a huge impact on how much you have flowing in!
In our heads, we all know it would be nice to have a fat paycheck, a thickly cushioned bank account, a few tropical beach vacations planned, and our dream house under contract…
But subconsciously, you may have blocks about money that keep those dreams from becoming a reality.
Tell me if any of this sounds like you…
“Making money is only for greedy people.”
“If I start making money, I’ll become different, or meaner, or a worse spouse or parent or friend.”
“In order to make a lot of money, I have to work super hard all the time.”
WRONG. All wrong!!!
And trust me, I’ve been there before, too.
But I had to realize that making money is NOT a sin, and it’s not going to change me for the worse. Most importantly: I don’t have to work myself to death to make a lot of it! In fact, the richer someone gets, the less they work. Ever notice that? The more I made my money work for me instead of working for my money (investing in yourself, boo!), the more I started making!
The thing is: 95% of our lives are subconscious. That means there’s a LOT going on behind the scenes that affect our actions.
Luckily, we don’t have to let that subconscious part of us run rampant with ideas that don’t help us achieve our goals. We can work on this.
Try these exercises to make sure you’re subconscious isn’t holding you back:
- Visualize what you want and why you want it with a vision board!
- Imagine what it would feel like to have plenty of money in the bank to buy that dream house, fly to that dream vacation spot, or whatever it is you want, and imagine how YOU would be. You’d be your same old self, right?
- Write down your money goals!
- Write your money goals down on sticky notes and put them on your mirror!
- Say your money goals out loud! (And not just a whisper either, get loud with it!).
- Imagine how it would FEEL and SOUND and TASTE to reach your money goals.
The point of this is: your subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between reality and imagination. It pretty much thinks it’s the same thing.
Which is a great thing for us, because it means that the more we really imagine what it would be like to start making the kind of money we wish we could be, the more our subconscious believes it!
And remember: it’s super important to do these exercises every day. It’s not enough to just do it once! Working on it consistently over an extended period of time is the only way to see real results. I’m definitely still working on it myself!
The really freaking thing about all this? You’ll actually start making more money.
Do these exercises regularly and you might just be amazed at how quickly you start getting “lucky” breaks (hint: it’s not luck!).
Now, I’m definitely not saying that this is a replacement for getting out there and doing the work. Staying in your room all day just imagining money isn’t going to do the trick…
